ABOUT US

2006

Co-Creando was founded in Milan by Antonia Teatino and Fatina Saikaly. The founders met each other when they were PhD candidates in Industrial Design at the Politecnico di Milano. In 2006, two years after concluding their PhD studies, they founded Co-Creando, a Research, Strategy and Design firm. In the same year, Co-Creando was selected as the third most creative and innovative new business in Milan and provinces in the contest “New Creative and Innovative Businesses” by The European Commission, Milan City Council and Milan’s Chamber of Commerce. Other innovation awards followed: “Milano In Progress, The Innovation Circus” by The European Commission Directorate General Enterprises and Industry, Politecnico Innovation, Fondazione Politecnico di Milano and Milan Province; and “The Joint Actions Grant for SMEs Innovative Growth” by Milan City Council, the Region of Lombardy and Milan’s Chamber of Commerce.

2008

Soon after, the founders strong commitment to sustainability was the main motivation to start in 2008 Sustainable Ideas Lab. A Research and Design Lab that addresses issues of sustainability in cities, production and consumption. All projects and events were financed by CoCreando’s profit. Projects and events received the support and patronage of local government and public institutions.

2006-2019

From 2006 to 2019, Co-Creando offered communication design, product design and strategic design services. The latter service focused on innovation and growth. We worked for clients from different sizes: artisans, small and medium-sized enterprises. Our team was a network of global consultants, and our clients were from Italy, the Middle East, and India.

2020-2021

In 2020-2021, during the pandemic and guided by the so many evidences that the current model of mass manufacturing is no longer socially, economically and environmentally sustainable, Co-Creando stops as a private consultancy firm. A new chapter begins: Co-Creando becomes a platform for a network of Designers, Makers and Artisans. We are experimenting new sustainable models of co-production. We are guided by the principles of sustainable and circular design and open-source design. We combine excellent craftsmanship and digital tools and fabrication and focus on homeware and tableware.

During Milan Design Week 2022, we launched the “Thousand and One Nights” experimental project and collection. It took take place as part of the FuoriSalone exhibitions and events, from 6 to 12 June 2022.
